Writing for partners affected by compulsive sexual behaviour in the person they love.
In my own words
A note from Dr Michael Yates.
If you have found out, or you already suspected, that your partner has been struggling with compulsive sexual behaviour, this space is written for you. I'm Dr Michael Yates, and while my clinical work is with men who present with this pattern, the people they live alongside are affected in ways that need their own careful attention.
Why this space
Why this page exists.
Discovering that your partner has been carrying something like this is one of the most disorienting things a person can go through. What you are feeling is not co-addiction and it is not weakness. It is a legitimate response to what has happened. The essays below are written to help you think clearly about disclosure, about staying or leaving, and about what realistic timescales look like.
